Our   Calendar of Events   (on the navigation bar to the left) has all the Music Dept. Events & Fundraisers for the next few months.  Check back frequently to learn more about what we're doing, how to register (if necessary) for some events..... AND.....how you can help.
 
 Event Overviews  (below) give you the details about all the scheduled events including dates/times/registration details. Each Overview also has a   link to the Volunteer  Coordinator,  so that you can sign up or Volunteer to help --  many events need YOUR help to be successful. If you can volunteer to help us in any way, please do!

Our Current Objective - BOSTON, APRIL 2010 - reduce the cost for each student
Currently, the Fundraising Team is working hard to help reduce the costs associated with the Boston Heritage Music Festival & Competition in April, 2010. Our students are looking forward to going --- and we're trying to make it more affordable. We hope you'll help by participating in our events & fundraisers.

3-D Puzzles of Neuschwanstein Castle
(each sale benefits an individual student account by $20; in other words, it reduces the cost of the trip by $20!)
 
We had puzzles for sale at the Winter Concert - they are still available for sale - they'd make great holiday gifts. This link with contact date still under construction -- should be available soon.
The Henderson
Music Department Cookbook
(benefits all students going to Boston)
Deadline for Submitting Your Recipes is changed to Feb. 1, 2010; Books will be delivered at the end of February. We need your pre-orders & your recipes.
 
Cookbooks cost $10 each.
 
Here's how the Cookbook Fundraiser Works & how to submit your PRE-ORDERS & RECIPES:

1. Decide how many cookbooks you want for yourself, as gifts, and keepsakes

2. Send the correct amount into Henderson, in an envelope marked "Cookbook" (make checks payable to WCFOTO-Henderson). Important -- include your email address

3. You'll receive an email with logon information and you can then logon to the Recipe Website to submit your recipes.

Note: WCFOTO is managing the fund, but all cookbook sales benefit Music Dept. students going on the Boston Trip from all 3 depts - Choral, Orchestra, & Band.
 

Gianni Cakes & Pizzas

Students should be bringing envelopes home this week. Fundraiser runs between Dec 9th & 16; orders will be delivered to school on Dec. 21. These are really high quality, beautiful and fancy cakes & desserts - perfect for holiday parties.

Wawa Hoagie Coupons - (Benefits
(individual student accounts- Orchestra only)
Wawa Hoagie Coupons are a tried & true Henderson Orchestra only Fundraiser. They are available for $4/each – $1 of every coupon sale goes into your student account.  This is the same price you pay in the store – buy your hoagies and earn credit at the same time! Group Photos

Thank You to photographer Terry Scholl who kindly volunteered her time at the Winter Concert & took our formal group photos -- we'll be using a few in the Cookbook. Some parents purchased group shots (thanks!) -- a portion of those sales go directly into individual accounts helping to reduce the cost for the Boston Trip for those students!  Bowl-a-thon
(benefits individual student accounts)
 
The Bowl-a-thon (for students) will take place in late January or February. (Link under construction -- Look here for more information & contact data when it is available)
 

 
POPS CONCERT - Sun, Feb. 7th
(benefits all Music Students)
This event is the annual Pops Concert with a twist. More information will be available soon, but this year we'll have a Spaghetti Dinner & a Silent Auction. During arrival & dinner, musical performances will be delivered by Chamber Orchestra Groups and Jazz Band.

The Spring MUSICAL - Mar 4-6, 2010
(Concessions benefit all Music Students)
 

Once again, Carolyn Best will be coordinating the Concession Stand at the HHS Spring Musical - sales at the stand benefit all music students.

 

Show dates are March 4, 5, and 6.

 

Please contact Carolyn (below) if you can help. We need:

1.Volunteers to assist on Show Nights & Sunday Matinee

2. Baked goods to sell, donations of prepackaged snack food (candy, chips, crackers, etc) & soda or water for the concession stand.

Need to Sign Up for the Boston Trip?

If your student hasn't signed-up yet for the Boston Heritage Festival trip (April 15, 2010) contact the appropriate HHS Music Dept. for more info -- there's still some space AND we could also use a few volunteer-chaperones (chaperones go FREE)...

3. At the Winter Concert, we handed out yellow postcards encouraging you to participate in the Cookbook. Remember, you need to decide how many books you want to preorder ($10/copy) & send a check (payable to WCFOTO) into Henderson with your email address -- mark the envelope "Cookbook" & we'll email a receipt and send you information on how to submit your recipes online! We need your preorders AND your recipes!

At the Pops Concert on February 27th, we are planning to have a pre-concert Spaghetti Dinner with entertainment provided by our music students & a silent auction scheduled to include fabulous desserts and other donated items.
